Last year The Symphony performed at the world Famous Carnegie Hall, NYC and received a standing ovation.  Because of their outstanding performance they were given an open invitation to perform at Chicago’s Symphony Center Orchestra Hall.

Many of the talented students who performed at Carnegie are still with the Symphony this year, because of this we decided not to wait to take advantage of this incredible event.  After all it was these student’s diligence, dedication and talent that earned us this opportunity.

We hope you will agree with our decision and help send The La Quinta High School Wind Symphony to the Symphony Center Orchestra Hall, Chicago, IL, April 18th 2016 One of the most prestigious venues in the world, for their Debut Series performance!   It is an honor given to only the finest talent.

The La Quinta High School Wind Symphony is the only high school performing.

La Quinta High school is proud to introduce a new scholarship for students in the performing arts. This scholarship provides an incredible opportunity for our children to learn, grow, and inspire our community.

Who Are We?

The La Quinta High School Wind Symphony is an auditioned group of 40+ students that are key to representing the performing arts program at La Quinta high school.  The program provides advanced musical instruction to students and spends on average $15,000+ per semester on consultants to give students extra incite and the help students need to hone their skills.

This program serves a diverse population of students in the Coachella Valley from grades 9-12; 51% boys and 49% girls; from every socioeconomic level, 22% initial and current English Language Learners, and approximately 40% qualifying for free or reduced lunch.

As a member of the Symphony, students diligently work hard at improving their musical talents, practicing on campus, after school and on weekends.  They learn important values that are necessary for success in college, how teamwork, dedication and discipline create a final product  worthy of their efforts and something they can be proud of.  As a result of their efforts they have consistently shown a high level of performance ability by placing at top levels in competitions including unanimous superior and superior ratings at this year’s State of California and local High School festivals.  Through this program students learn the values that create the future leaders in the workplace and the community.

Acceptance to play at Chicago is a great honor, but fees to attend are in excess of $80,000, and because many of the members are from lower income families, out of pocket expense for this opportunity is improbable.  With your help, we can offer scholarships for these talented and deserving kids, who without your help will not be able to experience this remarkable event.

Our focus is on those kids who come from financially disadvantaged families who cannot afford this great opportunity.  40% of the Wind Symphony qualify for the free lunch program.  These children have worked very hard, they are very talented, but don't have the funding they need.   I have created workshops for sponsorship drives for these kids and we have put funds into their individual accounts.

I have to tell you working and spending the time I do with them, that they are an amazing group of kids, talented, courteous, fun loving and with a great work ethic.  They represent ethnic diversity and are from every socioeconomic background, and many do not live in La Quinta but live in Coachella and Indio.

If any group of kids deserves this opportunity, it is this one.  I truly believe that many of these students will do some ground breaking work in the future and many will become our future leaders, entrepreneurs, and the movers and shakers of the next generation.

This opportunity is priceless and will definitely change the lives of these kids.  Many have taken initiative to raise the money they need not wanting to burden their families who cannot afford this.  They have jumped at any opportunity I have offered them to raise money.

I hope and pray you can help us. I am looking to fund the students only and any donation will go to those who need it most. Please consider that when you donate.
We greatly appreciate your generosity!

Any significant donation will leave a lasting impression on us and we would be more than grateful. We would be honored to list you as a platinum donor ($5,000 +)
